Obituary for Stacy Lynn Parks

Stacy Lynn Parks, 50 years, passed away suddenly a his mother's home April 6, 2018. He was born July 16, 1967 in Alma, Michigan; the eldest son of Darrell J. and Geneva D. (Clough) Parks. He was a graduate of Montabella High School with the class of 1987. He also had attended 3 years at Montcalm Area Career Center with emphasis on Food Service.

Some may read this and remember Stacy as a factory worker, those who really got to know him knew his true passion was in the kitchen; cook, chef and proclaimed master baker by those who treated their taste buds to his 'from scratch' baked goods.

A few of his hobbies were movies, thrifty store shopping, visiting with friends and raising his garden. He was known for his variety garden. He was known for his variety of tasty tomatoes (ketchup, sauces and stewed tomatoes). He also liked to collect natures bounty (wild leeks, mulberries or wild blackberries from a mother bear and cubs) and would share the bounty of his labor with others as fresh produce or homemade goodies such as jams, buckles and home pressed cider.

Stacy was also an animal lover (he raised a variety of chickens and Rottweilers). He loved children; he could entertain them on their own level. He was an artist on canvas, saw blades, and paper. He was a helping hand for many of his friends. If he said he would be there he was, he kept his word.

He was a man of simple means and few possessions, but rich beyond measure.

Stacy was preceded in death by his father in 2013; grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. He is survived by his mother, Geneva D. Parks; his brothers, Corey Parks and Laura Johnston, James and Suzanne Parks, his sister Deborah Parks and Asa Flint. His close cousin Karen, who was his great support during this difficult time. His special extended family, Jean Johnston and family, also aunts, uncles, and several cousins.

Stacy was a proud and private man and as a result his close family and friends only learned of his illness a short time ago. He himself only knew for a short four months before his life was taken. He did life 'his way' right through to the end.
